Fort Lauderdale Water Taxi Launches Free Weekday Commuter Service in Miami Beach
Miami Beach, FL. Beginning Tuesday, January 20, the Fort Lauderdale Water Taxi will begin operating a new commuter route in Miami Beach, Miami Beach Water Taxi, providing a free weekday service to help residents and employees travel to and from work more efficiently.
The route will operate between Maurice Gibb Memorial Park and Venetian Marina, running Monday through Friday. Service hours will be 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., with the following departure frequency:
• 7:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.: Every 60 minutes
• 4:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.: Every 30 minutes
The service will be operated using two 40-foot vessels with a capacity of up to 55 passengers, ensuring a comfortable and reliable commute.
“This service is about supporting the local workforce and offering a practical alternative to driving,” said Bill Walker, CEO of Water Taxi. “By providing a free commuter route during the workweek, we’re helping reduce traffic congestion while giving people a convenient and enjoyable way to experience Miami Beach from the water.” This complimentary commuter service is designed to improve mobility, reduce roadway strain, and offer a stress-free option for daily travel. No ticket or reservation is required to ride.
