NEW
SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT!
'Go Green…with the Sun Trolley
Lunch Time Shuttle'
Starting Monday, May 14, 2007, Sun Trolley introduces the
New Lunch Time Shuttle, providing access from the
Broward County Government Center & downtown office towers to
Riverfront/Himmarshee & Las Olas restaurants and shops without
patrons
having to drive, find & pay for parking. This initiative supports the
Greening of Downtown Fort Lauderdale, with our Bio-Diesel trolleys, a
fuel efficient alternative to multiple auto trips.
Sun Trolley Saves Green Backs, too. Not only does the Lunch Time
Shuttle provide a more cost effective alternative to the cost of
travel & parking using automobiles, it also is FREE
until Monday, July 2, 2007. This saves riders the
usual $.50 fare per ride, still a bargain.
"One of the many exciting features of our Downtown
is the ability to take clients to lunch or meet
coworkers without having to get back in our car.
The lunch trolley will allow us to visit more
businesses in downtown in a fun and convenient way,"
said Chris Wren Executive Director of the Downtown
Development Authority.
The Lunch Time Shuttle operates from 11:30a to 2:30p, Monday through
Friday. The shuttle operates every 10 minutes and can be
'waved down',
'hailed' or
'flagged down' anywhere
along its route.
Some key points of interest the shuttle travels by
include:
• Broward County Government Center
• Las Olas Riverfront
• Sun-Sentinel office tower
•
Stranahan House
• Las Olas Shops
• Broward County Main Library
Sun Trolley provides Access to Green Spaces as well. Take the Lunch
Time Shuttle and lunch at one of our Downtown Parks that the trolley
travels near:
• Riverfront Linear Park
• Huizenga Plaza
•
Stranahan Park
So, take the Sun Trolley and Go Green during Lunch Time in downtown
Fort Lauderdale.
Sun Trolley transit services are provided through a joint partnership
with the City of Fort Lauderdale, Broward County Transit, the Downtown
Development Authority, Florida Department of Transportation, and the
Metropolitan Planning Organization.
