Christmas on Las Olas 2006

Tuesday, November 28 and Holiday Happenings, Tuesday, December 5, 12, 19
A Winterfest Sanctioned Event

The Story of Christmas on Las Olas and Holiday Happenings

Celebrating the holidays on Las Olas Boulevard has been a South Florida tradition since 1965. Ushering in the holiday season, the Christmas on Las Olas Festival began as a small community event on the first Tuesday following Thanksgiving. It featured music, customer appreciation events, family fun, and the arrival of Santa Claus. For years, the holiday celebration on Las Olas has signaled to South Floridians and visitors alike that a very special time of year is at hand.

Close to 100,000 locals and visitors are on the boulevard at the Christmas on Las Olas night. The free-to-the-public extravaganza, now benefits local charities through funds raised at various portions of the festival. More entertainment has been added. Nearly 100 lighted trees adorn the boulevard. Lit displays are placed in the medians. To further showcase Fort Lauderdale's most spectacular shopping, eating and entertainment boulevards, the one night event will be joined by Holiday Happenings. This series of events, each Tuesday, in December increases visibility to the Fort Lauderdale holiday tradition.

The entire month of happenings will encompass a traditional celebration. Sponsors and merchants will have more opportunities to participate in awesome events, thank their year-round customers and provide top-of-the-mind awareness to potential customers. It will definitely bring about an additional customer / client base and assist in maintaining a deep sense of customer /c lient loyalty.

The association mission is to make each evening a must-see, must-attend experience for all. The following information details ways you may participate through sponsorship and on-site presence at these events. It will show you how to gain the most from these happenings.
