LAS OLAS VILLAGE

Las Olas Village
Las Olas Village is the area where we locals go for our everyday
shopping, services and dining. It's also the creative hub of the area.
It's where we go for breakfast or for sushi or for coffee or for dinner.
It's where we go to buy toothpaste, newspapers, books, a pair of
scissors, a bottle of wine, a loaf of bread ... in other words, our
day-to-day purchases.
Las Olas Village is where we go to have our clothes dry cleaned, to get
prescriptions filled, to have keys cut, to mail a package, to have a
manicure, to visit an ATM ... in other words, our day-to-day services.
Like any other village, it's where we go to our weekly market to stock
up on organic produce, flowers, baked goods, herbs, spices, sauces ...
and to chat with our friends while listening to live jazz and enjoy a
relaxed, sunny Sunday.
It's also where we go to pick up bargains and one-of-a-kind items - a
vintage purse, a second-hand book, a bag made from recycled materials,
consignment goods, a bargain antique ...
Las Olas Village is where many of us work. In our neighborhood we have
artists, designers, writers, photographers ... and experts in a wide
variety of subjects from antiques to music, to fashion, to art. As you
can imagine, because of this variety of creatives, we have several
venues where we hold parties, exhibitions and events.
The village is multi-cultural too - we have people from France, Greece,
Italy, England, Belgium, India, China and many other parts of the world.
All have brought elements of their own culture to this fascinating area.
Some of the oldest businesses in the area are in Las Olas Village. We
also have some of most interesting architecture. But we're also
completely up to date. Our diner, which first opened its doors in the
1930s offers free wifi. In the door of one of our antique shops you'll
see a QR code. One restaurant offers a free drink if you check in using
Foursquare on your phone ; another advertises some great specials on
Yelp - another iPhone app.
Our village has a marvelous mix of traditional and bang up-to-date. We
have the best of both words - modern Italian design sits quite happily
alongside nineteenth century antiques. Contrast the modern interior of
our deli with the traditional mural in our Italian bakery. Why, we even
have our own traditional village green which, naturally, sits alongside
the newest building in the village.
Come to see us and explore the Las Olas Village - one of our area's best
kept secrets.

Las
Olas has always been Fort Lauderdale’s most charming thoroughfare.
Las Olas
is at the forefront of everything from fashion boutiques and art galleries,
to memorable restaurants, sidewalk cafes and bars.
Running almost parallel to Fort Lauderdale’s New River on its way
to the Atlantic Ocean,
Las Olas is a broad avenue divided by a wide landscaped
median
of flowers and towering shade trees.
Over the canal at the east
end of the tree lined median, in the Colee Hammock neighborhood,
are more shops, restaurants, and stores too unique
to describe … all worth
exploring!
The Las Olas location is within walking distance
of the beach, where Las
Olas Boulevard meets the ocean.
A
few minutes from most hotels and easily accessible by water taxi or land
taxi,
Las Olas is a lively, pulsating, world class boulevard. Night or day,
Las Olas is the place to be.
Special
offers and events, where to stay, where to eat - your guide to Las Olas
Blvd, the heart of Fort Lauderdale.
(Often misspelled as Los Olas, Las Olas means 'The Waves')
