Legendary Restaurateur Louis Flematti
Celebrates 43rd Anniversary of Le Café de Paris
When legendary Swiss born restaurateur Louis Flematti acquired Le Café de
Paris in 1962, it was one of the city’s most popular restaurants.
Today, Flematti, described as 'a gentleman’s gentleman', continues his hands-on
owner /operator management style, ensuring a standard of excellence and
popularity that has become world famous. In fact, after more than four
decades of ownership, Le Café de Paris is one of the oldest and most
deliciously authentic French restaurants in South Florida.
Over the years, the restaurant has expanded ten-fold, with three intimate
indoor dining areas as well as outdoor seating on the ground floor and
banquet seating for upward of 150 people upstairs. The romance and unhurried
charm of Europe is reflected in the French décor, old-world service and
superb French classic cuisine. Located at 715 East Las Olas, Le Café de
Paris offers an extensive menu for lunch and dinner under the supervision of
Executive Chef, Andreas Habegger.
"The first thing one notices is the quality of the bread. It is French and
it is as fresh from the oven as one expects to find in Paris," restaurant
critic Robert Tolf wrote. "The second thing that commands attention, and
started us on the road to determining that the café is a four star
restaurant is the dinner salad," which Robert went into detail describing.
Choosing the main courses is not an easy task at Café de Paris. Over the
years the menu has evolved into an excellent compendium charting local
tastes, and there is a very tempting pocketbook-pleasing
fixed price menu that runs from $15.95 to $25.95 for baby rack of lamb or 1½ lobster. You
get a choice of soup of the day or a house salad and complimentary pastry
wagon and coffee service. For these specials, you have to order before 6:30
p.m.
Their special gourmet dinners have more choices, with prices ranging from
$20.95 to $31.95. There’s even a celebration dinner for two for $76.00 that
includes a bottle of wine and Baked Alaska for two. Other specialties
include Beef Wellington, Duck aux Fruits, a variety of crepes, veal
sweetbreads and bouillabaisse. Live piano music enhances the evening dining
experience. The lunch menu has equally attractive prices and extensive
selections. The restaurant is open 7 nights for dinner and lunch from Monday
to Saturday. You’ll also discover an extensive wine selection. For
